The eyes of Jesus penetrate the hearts of men. No wonder, he saw what was lacking in the life of the rich man in today's gospel. He lacked the essential freedom required for entering eternal life. Jesus knows what is still lacking in us. Let us beg him to reveal to us the lacunae that must be filled in. Perhaps faith or trust or confidence or hope. We will surely discover. |
