The Kingdom of God is at hand. This is one motif common to the Synoptic Gospels. St. Luke whose feast we celebrate today also speaks of that Kingdom. In Greek the "kingdom" is "basileia" which is not a spatio-temporal reality. It is a kingship or reign. When we make possible the reign of peace, justice and love, truly the kingdom is in our midst. |
