Intellectual knowledge may be impressive but it is affective knowledge that transforms the heart. In today's gospel, people had varying opinions about Jesus and these were all products of academic exercise. Even the most learned, even the scholars of the law did not win the heart of the Lord. It is not enough to "know about" Jesus. We have to "know" Jesus and be transformed by what we know about Him. |
