The late Miriam Defensor Santiago once said, "I am grateful that I am a woman. I have the privilege of marrying a man." In today's gospel, Jesus showed compassion for a woman. In his time, women were considered second class citizens. The Lord changed the societal prejudice against women. In our time, do we downgrade a political candidate because she is a woman? |
