There is a Latin maxim, "Finis coronat opus." Yes, the end crowns the work. The parable of tower-builder and king going to war is about being ready to tread and complete the road to discipleship. In following Jesus, we must be with him till the end. With St. Paul, we can say, "I have finished the race." |
