The stone that was never thrown. These words encapsulate today's gospel. The woman caught "in flagrante delicto" was not stoned because no one was found worthy to do so. Jesus who was rich in mercy did not stone her either. That is why only "misery and mercy" were left. We are all sinners. How can we point an accusing finger to a fellow sinner? With our own weakness, the stone of judgment cannot be thrown. |
