The beautiful name "Emmanuel" which is rendered "Immanu-El" in Hebrew means "With us- God." Spoken of by Isaiah, it refers, in the fuller sense or sensus plenior, to Jesus whose birth is a sign and a reality that God is with us. This is the content of our kerygmatic proclamation. We make known that in more ways than one, God indeed is among and with us. |
