When can we say that we are ready to die? In today's gospel, Simeon said, "Now let your servant go in peace." It was because he has seen the Lord and the promised salvation. If daily we are in communion with God, if we do His will and love him in our neighbors, we will never fear death. Joyfully proud we can utter the same words, "I can now go in peace." |
