The God-man Jesus Christ was praying after he was baptized. This is consistent with the theme of prayer developed by Luke. Yes, he was praying when heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended upon him. As baptized Christians, we are to pray always that the Spirit may descend upon us. When we make prayer our very life, we will hear the Father saying, "In you I am well pleased." |
