Vocation is a gift. It is given gratuitously by God to those whom he wants to call. The choice is his. Today's gospel says, "he summoned those whom he wanted." We, priests, know that we are unworthy. We are beset by human weakness. That is why we humbly depend on the grace of God. We were chosen. Our task is to make visible the marvels wrought by God in our frail humanity. |
