As a river doesn't drink its own water, a tree does not eat its own fruits. Today's parable says the tree has a shade for the birds to dwell in. As a digression from the main theme of the gospel, we focus on the "altruism" of a tree which we, human beings, can emulate. We were created not for our own sake. We are for others. May they find a resting shade in us. |
