Today we bring our candles to be blessed. We hear the words of Simeon upon seeing the child Jesus presented to the the temple, "a light to reveal you to the nations." Yes, Jesus is the Lumen Gentium. We share his light. It is our task as baptized Christians to give light to others. Our life shining brightly is our best offering. We present our very selves --pure and unstained-- as a gift to God. |
