Can we consider destitution or indigence a blessing? What is proclaimed by Jesus to be a blessed state is not poverty per se or for its own sake but the disposition to trust in God's providence in the midst of impoverishment. If, aware that we have nothing, we cling to God and rely on his constant care, we are truly blessed. |
