There are things intended to be displayed. They must be "seen" in order to be appreciated. This doesn't apply to Christian spirituality. Acts of piety, viz., prayer, fasting and almsgiving, are not performed for ostentatious display. Only the heavenly Father sees them. Never should we look for admiration and public approval. |
