Typically Lucan which emphasizes "prayer," today's gospel narrates that Jesus was transfigured when he was praying. The apostles needed to be strengthened because they feared the imminent death of the Lord. The transfiguration prefigured the Lord's resurrection. We need prayer to be able to realize that the cross leads to glory. |
