Photographers know that focus matters most. The Lucan triple parables of the lost sheep, coin and son focus not on the object lost but on the search. That is why many say this Sunday's parable is a misnomer. It is not the Parable of the Prodigal Son but of the Loving Father. We are wayward, looking for happiness in dissipation but God will never get tired searching for us. The camera rolls, focusing not on us but on God. |
