Appearances deceive. External looks do not always reveal the inner disposition. In today's gospel, Jesus says, "You judge by appearances but I do not judge anyone." We don't have an iota of right to judge others on the basis of external appearance because we are, in no way, capable of reading the deepest recesses of others' hearts. Only God who is omniscient can do that. |
