How is meeting possible between the Divine and the human? Jesus, in today's gospel, says "You belong to what is below, I belong to what is above." It was the God-man Jesus Christ who made that encounter possible. Theologians call it "theory of satisfaction." We needed a man to represent humanity and we needed God to appease God. Now, the encounter is possible. God descends, man ascends. |
