We cannot always blame people for their being and doing. We do not condemn Judas Iscariot for betraying Jesus because [today's gospel says] Satan entered in him. That it was night conveys the temporary triumph of the forces of darkness. People are not as bad as we imagine them to be. They are sadly under the infuence of the evil one. |
