Our Christian Liturgy is truly rich in symbols. Today's commemoration of the washing of the feet of the apostles conveys a profound message. The Greek word for "took off his cloak" is paralleled with the shepherd's "laying down his life." The gesture of Jesus says it all. He loves us to the end and gives his very life. |
