There was no constraint. He was not coerced. Jesus lovingly and willingly embraced his passion and death. That's the Johannine passion narrative, in a nutshell. We are invited to take our crosses without complaint. Our loving acceptance of the cross diminishes its weight. Let's share in Christ's suffering and death. We will also share his glory. |
