We see face masks everywhere, with varying colors, shapes and sizes. We use face mask to protect ourselves. From what? There is one thing we miss and fail to see -- the mask of hypocrisy (from the Greek word which means "actor's mask").
Judas, in today's gospel, wears that mask of pretension. He was not concerned about the poor but in the possible sale of the costly perfumed oil. When we do good things, we should be "unmasked." |
