As a high school student, I took Jose Rizal's novel "Noli me tangere" as a purely academic task. I never thought of its profound biblical meaning. In Greek, it means not simply "touching" but "taking hold of." Mary Magdalene should not take hold of Jesus as he has not ascended yet. We don't keep Jesus. We share him, proclaim his deeds and make him known. |
