God whose name is Mercy is the source of forgiveness and peace. Those themes rolled into one are manifest in Jesus. He is the Divine Mercy of the Father. He forgives sins and bestows peace (in Hebrew "Shalom" which is the totality of material and spiritual blessing). This Divine Mercy Sunday is a great celebration of Divine compassion gushing forth in forgiveness that brings about peace. |
