The Latin adage which means "Action follows being" has a wide application. It may refer to the way of thinking an educated person is expected to have. Nicodemus is a teacher of Israel. That is why Jesus is wondering why he does not understand the concept of being born from above. It is equally unthinkable if we think and behave contrary to our being children of God. |
