We are citizens not only of this world. We are citizens of heaven, too. Our concern for earthly food should, in no way, darken our vision of the heavenly food that is eternal. In today's gospel, people followed Jesus because they had their fill. They valued what was temporal. They overlooked what was essential -- that which lasts for eternity. Heaven is our true home. Let us not forget that. |
