Pruning is painful but fruitful. When a branch is pruned, it goes through a painful death but soon it sprouts and blossoms to subsequently bear fruits. That's discipleship. That's Christian life. God, the gospel says, prunes us to bear more fruits. We may find the process excruciating but it is rewarding in the end. We experience self-dying but we rise and live again. |
