The accused always draws strength from his "defense lawyer." That is the meaning of Advocate promised by Jesus in today's gospel. The Holy Spirit whom Jesus referred to as Advocate would defend his disciples when they are accused, persecuted, tempted and weakened by all forces. Let us invoke the Holy Spirit as we go through the the inevitable trials of life and faith. |
