It is not a question of social condition nor of economic status. Whether affluent or destitute, we all get hungry and need to be satisfied. That is why the miracle of the multiplication of loaves had a universal significance. On the same grounds, the rich and the poor alike experienced hunger. The Eucharist, foreshadowed in the gestures of Jesus, serves all men. We partake of the same Bread of Life. |
