To love is to be disturbed. The latter has two levels of meaning: to (1) be robbed of precious time and to (2) be emotionally bothered. The good Samaritan was disturbed on two counts. 1. He would have proceeded with his journey but had to stop to look after the victim on the road. 2. He was deeply moved, showed compassion and vowed to help the man till he gets completely well. He was truly a lover willing to be disturbed at all costs. How about you and me? |
