If water symbolizes life, then, the one who gives another a cup of water to drink shares his very being. In today's gospel, Jesus assures the giver [of cold water] of a reward. He will not go unrewarded. We can do away with symbolism. The action is for real. We, Filipinos, say "Mabuhay." Dapat magbigayan tayo hindi lamang ng ikabubuhay kundi ng mismong buhay. |
