Today we honor Mary, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Her words "Behold the handmaid of the Lord" parallel with the prophetic voice of Isaiah, "Behold my servant whom I have chosen" quoted in today's gospel. In her humility, Mary acknowledges that she is a servant, a handmaid, a lowly virgin. She is a humble flower gently blooming in the Garden of God ["Karem-el"] |
