Padre Pio once said, "Do not be so completely dedicated to Martha's activity that you forget the silence or self-abandonment of Mary." In fact, the good saint encouraged people to put Martha and Mary on an equal footing. Action and contemplation must come together. Serving Jesus is as good as listening at his feet. Who is our model? Padre Pio pointed to the Blessed Virgin who "combined these two duties so well." She is our inspiration. |
