Spiritual over physical. Nothing is ever going to change that. Jesus invariably gives prominence to spiritual relationship that surpasses blood affinity. The visit of his own mother becomes an occasion for Jesus to express the priority of spiritual kinship. In fact, Mary is great not so much as Mother of God but as a Disciple. |
