Who was being reproached by Jesus? It was not Peter but Satan himself. Yes, it was Satan who was thinking differently, not the way God does. Satan does not want the cross. He wants the easy way. Aren't we like Satan? We also shun the cross of trials and sufferings. We prefer an easy life. We will, then, hear Jesus telling us, "Get behind me, Satan!" |
