Heaven is our goal. That is what Mary's Assumption is telling us. Whether or not Mary died is not stated in "Munificentissimus Deus." What is clear is that she was assumed into heaven body and soul in view of her dignity as Mother of God. How do we go to heaven? The gospel on Visitation/Magnificat gives us two ways - 1. In the name of charity, visit and assist those in need. 2. Recognize God's gifts with a grateful heart. |
