The late Abp. Angel Lagdameo was asking the nuns: "Who among you are the wise? and the foolish?" It's good he did not ask them,"Who among you are virgins?" Today's gospel that speaks of the wise and foolish virgins is not about virginity. The emphasis is on wisdom and foolishness. It calls us to be wise in foreseeing our salvation. It reminds us to carry extra oil of Christian love. |
