"In case of necessity, there is no law." This very well applies to the situation presented in today's gospel. It was a day of rest but Jesus' disciples had to pick up grains of wheat because they were hungry. Charity is the true spirit of the law. The latter is superseded by the need to feed the hungry. Diabetics need not fast. Health and salvation are more important than the laws on fasting. Higit sa lahat... TAO muna. |
