I find it awkward to consider the loss of the child Jesus as a joyful mystery. I am more comfortable saying "the fifth mystery is the finding of the lost child.." There is immense joy in finding. That is common in the three Lucan parables which are decreasing in number (100 sheep, 10 coins and 2 sons). God is certainly happy when we, lost in sin, are finally found in grace. |
