A young boy was trying to impress his mother, "Mommy, I studied my lessons well" to which his mom replied, "Of course, you should." Things we must do must be done without bragging and not expecting a reward. Today's gospel says so. The master never thanks the servant for doing what was commanded. We are supposed to be good and do good. Just be good. Don't expect to be praised or rewarded. |
