The late Bishop Julio X. Labayen once preached, "Kapag ang tao ay mukha nang pera, hindi na siya mukhang tao." God and mammon. These can't be together. They are two masters. The gospel says we hate one and love the other. Why do we prefer money over God? It destroys our image. We lose our beautiful image created unto the likeness of God. Mukhang-pera? That's horrible. We should be mukhang-tao. Better still, mukhang-Diyos. |
