"Off guard" means to be in an unprepared or unsuspecting state. In the days of Noah, says Jesus, people were caught off guard. While eating and drinking and marrying, they were destroyed by floods. We do not know what our future holds but we can prepare for it. Today well-lived makes a better tomorrow. Yes, today is an opportunity to build the tomorrow we want. By preparing, we will never be caught off guard. |
