Are there thieves in the church? My answer is a big YES. Jesus himself, in today's gospel, saw that when he said, You have made my house a "den of thieves."There were people who engaged in dirty business right at the holy temple which enraged the Lord. Which happens over and over again, albeit not in the church building. Our bodies are temple of God. When we sin, we tarnish that temple. We are thieves because we steal purity, truth and goodness and replace them with lust, lying and evil deeds. |
