The pessimist sees a problem. The optimist sees an opportunity. The apocalyptic scenario in today's gospel makes us tremble in fear and shudder in terror. But a correct attitude makes a big difference. If we focus on catastrophic events, we shall surrender in grief but if we look at the coming of the Son of Man with power and glory, we shall stand up in hope. Pessimism makes us give up. Optimism gives us the courage to fight. |
