A high school classmate used to tell me about the inspiring words lifted from James 1:5, "If any of you is without wisdom, let him ask it from God... and it will be given him." This finds resonance with today's gospel. Jesus promised to give the wisdom in speaking to face the adversaries. As a priest and preacher, I always beg the Lord to grant me that wisdom to know what to preach and I am never found wanting. Ask for the gift of wisdom. It will be given us. |
