During this Advent Season, the Liturgy invariably focuses on the advent of God and the call to prepare for his coming. The Greek word "metanoia" suggests a radical turning away from sin. It is an about face or 180 degrees turn around. We cannot love the old self immersed in infidelities. We compete with this self, trying to be better than we used to be. We repent. We change. We renew our lives. |
