Authority is power to influence and command. God can command all because he has absolute authority over created beings. But there is something more. Jesus, in the gospels, displays the authority springing from credible witnessing. Such authority was questioned by the chief priests and the elders of the people and they proved to be very wrong. Like Jesus, let's exercise the power of witnessing. Such power evokes joyful obedience. |
