You have an imperfect family. Be glad you have one. The Genealogy of the Matthean gospel shows the imperfection of the ancestors of Jesus. There were imperfect kings poisoned by the allurement of power and of pleasure. There were women with irregularities like Tamar, Rahab. Ruth and Bathsheba. From this lineage Jesus was born. Our families may be a far cry from perfection and idealism but we are still grateful. We have a family to which we proudly belong. |
