Gladly and with a "holy sense of pride," we claim our dignity as baptized Christians. We are "born again" which sounds unimaginable to Nicodemus. To be "born again in water and in Spirit," ie, to be baptized, is not just a gift but also a task. We need to have the audacity of a prophet, the sanctity of a priest and the magnanimity of a servant-ruler. These are not merely the "tria munera" of service but, above all, a triple mission of love. |
