One of the many lessons of Covid-19 crisis is the striking awareness that earthly life is so fleeting. An invisible virus can claim our lives. Our possessions will be left behind and will turn to naught. Today's gospel teaches us to value eternal life and to believe in Jesus. We do not subscribe to the Hedonistic philosophy that says "eat and be merry for tomorrow you will die." There is more to the present life. We look forward to a life beyond... in that kingdom where life is eternal. |
